Quotes about Arjen Robben #15
The Dutchman jumped at the advertisement board. Stood still like an acrobat on a rope, in front of him the crowd was buzzing. After a moment he jumped off and run over to the stands. “I’ve been preparing for this game in a special way. I’ve played the game many times in my head. An assist and a goal is something hard to believe for me right now and I guess it won’t be any easier with time. I don’t know what I was thinking about when I got the ball. But when I saw it in the net I said to myself: we have finally made it” he said. And cried. And continuingly cried.
I just read a thing I hadn’t thought about, but Arjen, in a way, got almost as much as Philipp and Bastien. He had a similar sort of pressure. Not from the media and higher ups like the Germans, but from himself. From the UCL final against Inter, then the World Cup final with Netherlands, then Chelsea… He’s had all these chances and hasn’t ever gotten to prove himself. At 29 he still has a few years left, but he’s seen so many opportunities pass and then on Saturday he just hit his max, he couldn’t take it anymore. He wasn’t a one-man team, but I think he was the real deciding-factor between the two. Finally.
I love how small they are at the end. It’s just so… Like, these two contributed to the greatness that IS our club. And now they too are part of our history.

So many direct shots at Weidenfeller all day and then, finally, he did something less direct. It was an amazing moment.

I need to stop Bayern-spamming and go to bed, but I was off Tumblr celebrating all day and now I can’t stop! It’s 5AM!!!
Which reminds me of the 5th star :-D

It shouldn’t have taken the extra year, but you know what? It actually made the victory that much sweeter. Do I wish we had won last year? Yes, absolutely! But this year, storming through the groups and playoffs with the fury of a team hellbent on claiming something that was, in a sense, stolen from them was an amazing spectacle.
Basically, I want to thank the team for having a terrible experience last season and letting that fuel their determination to turn it all around. It was a beautiful day today. Now with the Pokal, that’ll be the unprecedented, historic, amazing treble.
I LOVE the 5th star. Mia San Champions.
Does anyone else totally have Stern des Südens stuck on a loop in their head?
